MY ROLE AS

THE CATALYST

Creating Alchemical Transformation programmes is a process that has evolved with me over the past 26 years. During that period I have been fortunate in having been trained with truly authentic teachers, in different countries of the world, in modalities covering all aspects of the ‘human condition’ – physical, mental/emotional and spiritual. During that time I have discarded some of the subjects that I have learnt and further developed others: constantly searching, researching and perfecting. My goal was, and still is, to use systems which are safe, efficient and long lasting.

My introduction to this field occurred approximately 27 years ago when I recognised that there was a connection between stress, nutrition and the immune system. This was the catalyst which started me on a very long road of trainings and my own personal transformation which taught me a deep respect and humility for the complexity of what it truly means to be human. One of the most important things I learnt was that we are all different, we are all multi-faceted and that all levels of physical, mental/emotional, conscious and unconscious have to be addressed and integrated if one is to make a profound transformation. There has to be a truly integrated approach and there are no short cuts.

I have been a therapist/teacher/facilitator for 25 years and am passionate about the beauty, creativity, strength and fragility of the human condition. Unfortunately, I have seen a lot of trends in personal development come and go and the main theme of these is that success, health and wealth can be achieved by reading a book, doing a weekend seminar, or intensive study weeks to become healers, therapists, etc. What is crystal clear to me is that real truth, knowledge and wisdom come through diligence, discipline and time. I therefore do not offer quick fixes. I offer programmes, personally designed for you, for lasting and meaningful evolving change. My role is that of a catalyst for the different levels of your transformation. By being a catalyst it ensures that you do not become co-dependent on me for your further development. The methodology of my programmes empowers you with the structure for change that you can use for the rest of your life.

GLOSSARY OF TERMS

ADRENAL FATIGUE
The adrenal glands form part of the endocrine system and are located on top of the kidneys. They are chiefly responsible for regulating the stress response in the body through the synthesis of corticosteroids and catecholamine, including cortisol and adrenaline. A small amount of stress is not damaging to the function of the adrenal glands. However, if sustained periods of stress are experienced, then the adrenal glands become less efficient in responding to daily life, which results in a feeling of exhaustion and eventually an inefficient immune system.

ALCHEMY
A process of transformation, discipline and purification. There are two types of alchemy which often overlap. Practical, chemical or outer alchemy is concerned with transforming a base material into a higher and more purified substance, such as the turning of lead into gold or the extraction of a medicinal substance from a plant in order to create a healing elixir. Spiritually, theoretical or inner alchemy is concerned with the transformation of the human soul from a state of baseness to one of spiritual enlightenment. The primary work of alchemy is the purification and sublimation of the human soul.

CLINICAL AROMATHERAPY
Clinical Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of essential oils. The use of plants to cure disease is as old as the human race. In fact the paintings on the walls of the Lascaux caves in the Dordogne in France, dating back to 18,000BC, tell of the use of plants in medicine. Essential oils are the product of plants or flowers which have undergone a process of extraction which enhances the powerful therapeutic properties of the plants. In other countries of Europe – outside of the UK – essential oils are used as oral medicines by medical practitioners. In the UK the essential oils are applied to the skin, which acts as a vehicle for their absorption into the bloodstream, combined with a specific massage which uses acupressure points and lymphatic drainage.

BELIEF SYSTEMS
Belief systems are the opinions we have about ourselves on a conscious and unconscious level. During the gestation period – time in the womb – and during our early life we are programmed with certain concepts and opinions about who we are in relation to the world around us. At certain critical stages we need to receive certain information in order for us to be happy, confident, healthy, balanced and authentic adults. Unfortunately, we do not get everything that we require – this is the nature of mankind – and we find ourselves searching for the missing pieces.

CATALYST
Chemically, a catalyst allows an action to take place in less time and with less energy. The catalyst does not change. The qualities of the catalyst stay the same. Therefore the action of a catalyst is to effect a natural evolutionary process into something which needs to change.

CHINESE DIAGNOSIS OF THE FACE
In Chinese medicine, certain parts of the face reflect the condition of various organs and systems of the body. By
Observing these, together with other tools, it assists the practitioner in determining the background health of the individual.

CARL G JUNG,CONSCIOUS, UNCONSCIOUS AND COLLECTIVE UNCONSCIOUS
In describing the different parts of the mind one must always bears in mind that we are talking about that which is not tangible; therefore one cannot talk in terms of a definitive description.

The conscious mind deals with the intellect, analyses, logic, reason. The unconscious deals with learning from experiences, feelings and is non-verbal. It makes associations and connections between many thoughts, ideas and feelings, intuition, and processes simultaneously.

Carl G Jung, who was a psychiatrist and founder of analytical psychology, coined the term the collective unconscious. Jung distinguished the collective unconscious from the personal unconscious. The collective unconscious was also known as ‘a reservoir of the experiences of our species’. Jung eventually called the collective unconscious the objective psyche. The objective psyche may be considered objective for two reasons: it is common to everyone; and it has a better sense of the self’s ideal than the ego or conscious self does. It thus directs the self, via archetypes, dreams and intuition and drives the person to make mistakes on purpose. In this way, it moves the psyche toward self actualisation. Whilst he was a practicing clinician for most of his life, much of Jung’s life work was spent exploring other realms, including Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy and astrology.

THE DIVINE
Divine is a word used to try to describe something which is outside of the three dimensional human condition. Therefore words will never describe and embrace all that it means. An encyclopaedia definition is: A power or force that is universal which transcends the human capacities and carries qualities such as perfection, beauty, justice, love, devotion.

ENDOCRINE SYSTEM
The human endocrine system is an integrated system of glands – Pituitary, Thyroid, Adrenals, Ovaries and Testes - that involve the release of hormones which regulate the metabolism; growth and development; tissue function and mood. If any part of the endocrine system becomes unbalanced it will affect the other glands in the system and will cause a dysfunction of the complete functioning of the body. As an example, growth development in children, menstruation and fertility disorders, blood sugar irregularities.

EMOTIONAL TRAUMA MUSCLE RELEASE
The ancient Chinese believed that trauma was locked into muscle. By releasing the trauma, the muscle would
Release. Therefore a series of prompts are used whilst placing the therapist’s hands on certain parts of the body
This helps to release the muscles that are in spasm.

GOLDENHUMMINGBIRD TRAINING
An authentic training comprising three levels, incorporating shamanism and the Wisdom traditions, which have been translated to be used in modern times.

HYPNOSIS
A method of relaxing the conscious mind which allows the unconscious to be more accessible.

ELECTROMAGNETHERAPY
In Japan GPs recommend their patients have magnetic devices in their home to be used as a tool for preventing disease. The iron in the blood cells is attracted to the flow of the magnets and if the magnets are strategically placed on the body or in a product which is next to the body, i.e. pillow, mattress, insole, backrest, then the circulation of the blood is improved. When the circulation of the blood is working efficiently, then the cells of the body are receiving sufficient nutrients and toxins are being removed so that the organs and tissues of the body can function more effectively. Electromagnetherapy increases the power of the magnetic field of the whole body.

IMMUNE SYSTEM AND AUTO-IMMUNE DISORDERS
The immune system protects the body from infection by creating and maintaining barriers that prevent bacteria and viruses from getting into the body. Many factors impact on the immune systems, i.e. diet, pollution, stress and lifestyle.

Auto-immune disorders arise from an overactive immune response by the body against substances and tissue normally present in the body. Examples of these disorders are: Addison’s, Cohn’s, Diabetes Mellitus, and Rheumatoid Arthritis.

METAMORPHIC TECHNIQUE
A technique which focuses on the gestation period – time in the womb – as being a period when the physical, mental and emotional structures are established. If there are negative experiences during this time, then the metamorphic technique can assess approximately when this happened and, by using a gentle physical process on the feet or hands, assist in releasing these blockages.

MIND DYNAMICS
The understanding and therefore control of how the mind, both unconscious and conscious, responds to each other and the various techniques which allow you to observe that mechanism.

PEACOCK FEATHERS
The Peacock is an ancient symbol representing integrity, loyalty, royalty, compassion and peace. In traditional alchemy it represents, transformation, purification and transmutation and the Peacock's Feathers, which form the Tail, represents the central experience to this process, the point of inner transformation.

REFLEXTHERAPY
This practice of stimulating the points on the feet which relate to parts of the body can be traced back to ancient Egypt. Each part of the body is reflected in the foot and hand and a practitioner can establish which organs or systems of the body are not working efficiently and, by using a specific technique, can effect a change in that area of the body.

SHAMANISM
Shamanic healers date back to pre-historic times and appear in many civilisations of the world. A shaman is a traditional healer who works with the four elements and has the ability to work on a deep level of healing with an individual by exploring the unconscious by way of dreams, journeys and archetypes from the natural world.

TRANSFORMATION
Transformation is a process of substantial change wherein the substance of something changes completely and irrevocably. A process which requires a series of stages to be experienced for it to take place.

UNIVERSE
The universe is defined as the summation of all matter and energy that exists and the space-time in which all events occur.

UNIVERSAL LAWS OF CREATIVITY
According to the Wisdom Traditions, everything that is material in the universe was created according to a particular evolutionary framework which had a certain number of levels or steps which had to be integrated in order that the finished article truly reflected the beauty and perfection of the Divine. There are many different versions of these steps. But, no matter which version you use, you will find that each step has a specific quality. This framework also represents the blueprint of our personalities. If any of these steps is missed out then the end result will not reflect the creative perfection of the Divine.

VISUALISATION
The mind does not recognise the difference between reality and visualisation therefore this technique has the possibility of reprogramming the way we respond to the world around us. However, the art of visualisation is a precise science and a practised skill, and should only be undertaken with an experienced practitioner so as not to create chaos in a person’s life.

WISDOM TRADITIONS
These are traditions which have been practised in Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Persia, India, China, Classical Greece and Rome and then in Europe in the 19th Century, spanning at least 2500 years. Wisdom Traditions provide a conceptual framework for the development of the inner self, living a spiritual life and the realisation of enlightenment.
