The course is designed to teach carers a  professional skill set to deliver massage and essential oils to neurodivergent individuals from all age groups, covering a broad spectrum of needs from severe autism to dementia. Essential oils have proven to excel in the area of non verbal communication and able to make emotional breakthroughs when everything else has failed. The essential oils combined with the healing power of touch offers a valuable tool that is suitable for anyone in the caring profession. This is a training that has gained more interest in recent years, particularly with care homes, local authorities, and specialist schools in the UK and overseas as it is proving to be an excellent tool to improve communication between the individuals and their carers: relieving tension, frustration and anger and in cases of dementia, improving memory.

 

By the end of the course, participants will:

• Demonstrate the knowledge and professional skills required to use aromatherapy in the context of a carer

• Know the history of aromatherapy

• Understand basic anatomy and physiology as it relates to aromatherapy and massage

• Understand and demonstrate the importance of accurate records and case studies
